The country and the attractions
The village of Tortorella rises 600 meters. on the top of a hill that on one side looks at the sea and where on clearer days it is also possible to see Stromboli, on the other dominates the deep gorge of the Bussentino stream.
An ancient center of noble origins, renowned for its healthy air, florid vegetation, numerous spring waters, the warm welcome of its inhabitants, it stands within the medieval walls, it was a possession of the Counts of Sanseverino, university city, site of a refined society.
Within the country (the first Municipality of "Riciclone" for recycling and strongly oriented towards the "Plastic Free" policy), there are various foodstuffs within which there are local products at km 0, pharmacy, tobacco, post office. Soon it will also be possible to use two columns for electric cars.
The municipal administration provides its guests with a toy library, a library, an information desk for tourists, tennis courts, a five-a-side football pitch (for reservations 0973374366) and a fantastic swimming pool surrounded by a splendid pine forest with a negligible entrance.
Among the recreational activities available, restaurant attached to the pool, pizzeria, bar, bistro with tastings of typical Cilento products.
Walking through the narrow streets between old 'stieri' (locals once used for storage or sheltering of livestock) and doorways of stately homes, you come across stairways full of flowers, craft shops (iron work here has very ancient origins) and beautiful constructions in stone.
